Slovak Compliance Circle Personal Data Memorandum
Protecting the privacy of our members and other entities in the processing of personal data is very important to us. We process your personal data in accordance with applicable law and we ensure its protection to the fullest extent possible. All visitors to this website will find all the necessary information regarding the processing of personal data in this document.
This Privacy Statement (hereinafter referred to as the „Memorandum“) will provide you with information on how we treat your personal information and how to contact us if you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal information.
About the Slovak Compliance Circle
The Slovak Compliance Circle (hereinafter referred to as „SCC„) is an association of legal entities operating in Slovakia in various sectors whose aim is to help Slovak firms promote ethical values in business and to effectively fight against corruption and unethical practices. SCC aims to promote compliance as an important component of company management, to share best practices in compliance within the Slovak business community, and to build and shape the ethical attitudes of the next generation of Slovak business leaders.
When processing your personal data, we are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, in particular Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR), the Personal Data Protection Act and other legislation.
The Information Systems Operators, in which the personal data of our members and other persons are processed, is the Slovak Compliance Circle, the interest association of legal entities with headquarters in Dvořákovo nábrežie 7527/10, 81102 Bratislava-Staré Mesto, Slovak Republic, ID: 45741999, registered in the register of interest association of legal entities headed by the District Office of Bratislava.
What data does SCC process about you?
Personal information is considered to be an indication to identify a particular individual. This means that it’s not just known identifiers like name, surname, or date of birth. GDPR defines a personal data as any information that leads to the determination of a natural person. Any natural person to whom the personal data relate is considered to be the person concerned with the relevant personal data rights.
In SCC, we only process personal information to adequately meet the SCC activity and the corresponding activity. In case that your personal data is processed by consent, the extent of the data is accurately stated in the consent, to the extent necessary to meet the purpose for which the personal data are processed.
In the light of the above, the data processed include, in particular, categories of personal data used for the purpose of registration of the persons concerned in connection with the implementation of individual SCC activities, such as the organization of workshops, conferences or other events. Given that SCC is an association of legal persons, this document does not concern the processing of personal data relating to legal persons nor the contact details of legal persons.
For what purpose does SCC process your data
We process your personal data only to the extent necessary for the purpose. Most of our processing operations are motivated by the fact that we need your personal data to pursue the SCC business and related activities such as creating a platform for sharing experiences, organizing regular meetings / discussions of association members and working groups as well as events, trainings and workshops on specific topics, including the development of the association’s website. We obtain personal data to carry out these activities directly from you or by filling in the electronic form at www.slovakcompliancecircle.sk, where we process your name, surname, e-mail address and phone number. It is therefore important that you provide us with complete, correct, up-to-date and true personal data.
We process your personal data in SCC for a variety of purposes, primarily for purposes that fall into the following categories:
- Identify and verify identification of participants in our activities,
- Registration of participants of events organized by SCC,
- Promotion of SCC activity via the Internet.
Handling data about people in Facebook
We process your personal data only to the extent necessary and for the appropriate purpose. This is also the case if you are participating in our activities through our Facebook profile. Your personal data has already been provided to Facebook Ireland Ltd. 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbor, Dublin 2 Ireland.
SCC protects your data
In SCC, we have strict rules in place to govern the conditions under which our employees, other authorized persons have access to your personal information as well as which personal data can process. The personal data of the persons concerned are not made available outside of the SCC, except when we are obliged to follow the applicable law.
We process personal data using both manual and automated processing resources within our information systems that are secured and protected in accordance with applicable security standards and privacy policy.
When processing your data, we are required to comply with certain obligations. The most important duties we observe include:
- We process and collect your personal data only for unambiguous and legitimate purposes only for the time we achieve the purpose for which we obtained these personal data.
- We do not interfere with your privacy and we do not infringe your rights.
- We protect your personal information from loss, destruction and misuse.
- All our employees and authorized persons are bound by the confidentiality, personal data of the persons concerned can not be given to third parties.
What you have against SCC rights:
You have the right to access your data
You have the right to require from us confirmation that we process your personal information and, if so, you have the right to access this data and the following information:
- identity and contact details of SCC
- processing purposes
- categories of personal data
- categories of recipients of your data
- processing of personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest
- of data processing
- information about the source from which we obtained your personal information
- information about rights to object, delete, limit personal information.
You have the right to correct your data
It may happen that some of the information we know about you is not or has ceased to be correct. Without your synergy, however, we naturally do not. For this reason, it is important that you promptly inform us of any changes to your personal information. As the person concerned, you are responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, completeness and veracity of the personal data you have provided to SCC.
You have a right to object to the processing of your data
In case you do not agree to have your personal data processed in certain cases, you have the right to object to such processing. Your right to object to you is particularly important in cases where we process your personal information for legitimate interest on our part.
You have the right to request a limitation on the processing of your data
Under certain circumstances, your personal data may no longer be processed.
You have the right to delete your data
If you believe that certain data relating to your person is illegally processed, you have the right to require us to delete the marked data. In this regard, you are required to prove the unlawfulness of the processing on the basis of the relevant documents.
You have the right to transfer your data
You have the right to receive your personal data in electronic format in a structured format. You have the right to require us to transfer your data to another person who, in your application delivered to: tajomnik@slovakcompliancecircle.sk, duly mark including the third-party email address.
How you apply your rights to personal information

SCC, in the sense of the GDPR, reserves the right to require the identification data of the person concerned to ensure sufficient identification of the applicant’s person in order to protect the rights of the persons concerned.
SCC has a request for a period of one month from the date of receipt of the request. That period may be extended by a further two months if necessary, taking into account the complexity of the application and the number of applications. The SCC shall notify any such extension to the applicant within one month of receipt of the request together with the reasons for the missed time limit. In such a case, the applicant will be informed of the time extension in the form in which he has chosen to respond to his request.
Right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority
If you believe that your rights to personal data have been violated or violated the terms of processing of your data, you have the right to complain to the supervisory authority, the SR Office for Personal Data Protection, Hraničná 12, 820 07 Bratislava.
How long do we process your personal data in SCC?
We store and protect your personal data for as long as the applicable laws, as long as there is a legal reason for SCC for the purpose of processing. We want you to be informed about our current activities and therefore, if you participate in our current activity, we may use your personal information for this purpose for the next event as well. In the case of personal data processed under your consent, for as long as you have given us your consent. In the event that the reason for the processing of your personal data ceases to exist, we will delete it without delay.
Processing of your personal data by consent
We consider marketing activities to be a good tool to alert you to our activities and current events we organize for you. In order to be able to inform you about our activities and at the same time have the opportunity to receive information from you in order to organize our event, including the processing of follow-up feedback, we need your data. If you have given us consent to the processing of your video and audio recordings made at the events organized by us, we are entitled, within the scope of this consent, to appropriately use your personal data in order to conduct marketing activities through the information materials produced on our website www.slovakcompliancecircle .sk or our profile on Facebook.
You may at any time revoke any representations you have given us to process your personal data at the secretariat@slovakcompliancecircle.com.
The provision of your personal data is voluntary, we can not force you to consent to the processing of your personal data in any way and you are entitled to refuse to provide your personal data.
Processing of personal data in connection with participation in a SCC membership meeting by electronic means
Participation in the SCC General Assembly meeting by electronic means via a conference (video) call, including voting at it, will take place in accordance with the current SCC statutes.
In order to identify the persons participating in the General Assembly meeting in such a form, the SCC will process a visual image of the face, name and surname and, in some cases, an e-mail address.
The primary purpose of such processing of personal data is to ensure the proper conduct of the General Assembly meeting in accordance with the statutes of the SCC.
The legal basis for such processing of personal data is the legal reason under Art. 6 par. 1 letter b) GDPR (Performance of the Contract) in connection with the implementation of the activities of the SCC, including the organization of a General Assembly meeting in accordance with the statutes of the SCC.
A record of the General Assembly meeting carried out by electronic means via a conference (video) call will be made and kept, which will be processed by the SCC only for the necessary time.
